Act 1 Dance Studio

Act 1 Dance Studio has been teaching children dance since 1964. The Studio's focus is on developing confidence, coordination and self-esteem. Not interested in competitions with flashy, expensive outfits that will only be worn once, the Studio implements a Superstar Incentive Program, rewarding children for having a positive attitude, paying attention in class and striving to improve.

      10/14/09- Ongoing	Dance 3 Act 1 Dance Studio Dance 3 Presented by Act 1 Dance Studio at Act 1 Dance Studio October 14, 2009 - Ongoing This class dances from the very get go! More and more Tap steps will be learned and Ballet will go through an actual simplified ballet class. Correct form and proper names for the steps and movements will be worked on. There will also be a song and dance for each subject. Ages 7-9.
      10/14/09- Ongoing	Dance 2 Act 1 Dance Studio Dance 2 Presented by Act 1 Dance Studio at Act 1 Dance Studio October 14, 2009 - Ongoing In this class, we focus on the basic steps of Tap. The class is always fun but very structured. In the Ballet portion of the class, the correct body position is encouraged while learning simple ballet steps. The Acrobatics portion is becoming more advanced, always challenging the individual but never pushing. In both tap and ballet, a song and dance is introduced. This class is about learning to become a dancer. Ages 5-7.

We start in a circle and sing songs as we warm up and relax. Most of the class is sung. We cover basic ballet terminology and simple movements, moving like animals and such. For tap we concentrate on rhythm. But making noise with the different parts of our feet is great! We end with acrobatics. Here we work on flexibility and the basic movements, as well as the hardest thing, waiting your turn. A song and dance is introduced for both tap and ballet. Class...
