Take advantage of San Jose's warm, summer nights and enjoy a movie under the star-studded sky with good company. Explore one of three downtown neighborhoods each week and meet the people and businesses that give downtown its character. Bring Your own Chair, Blanket or Air Bed. Arrive early for the best seats and pre-screening entertainment.

Romeo + Juliet (1996/ Rated PG/ 120 minutes) starring Leonardo DiCaprio, Claire Danes, John Leguizamo, and Harrold Perrineu; directed by Baz Luhrmann. Although set in modern times in the city of Verona Beach, it is still the same timeless, classic story of Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet. The Montagues and Capulets are two feuding families whose children meet and fall in love. They have to hide their love from the world because they know that their parents will not allow them to be together. The pair faces obstacles on the way, including Juliet's cousin Tybalt and Romeo's friend Mercutio, and many fights.

Produced by San Jose Downtown Association, a non-profit group of business and property owners working to improve the vitality and livability of downtown San Jose.
